Sparks flying on set! Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz are the latest celebrity couple to taking their working relationship to the next level.
The actor previously found love with his Step Up costar Jenna Dewan while filming the 2006 movie. The twosome subsequently wed in 2009 and welcomed daughter Everly in 2013. Five years later, fans were surprised to learn the pair were going their separate ways, with the former couple finalizing their divorce in 2019.
“We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now,” the actors said in a statement at the time. “There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving, dedicated parents to Everly.”
While Tatum went on to date Jessie J on and off from October 2018 to April 2020, Dewan started seeing Steve Kazee and welcomed son Calum with her fiancé in 2020.
Kravitz, for her part, married Karl Glusman in May 2019 after three years of dating. The High Fidelity alum and the Greyhound actor called it quits after less than two years of marriage in December 2020. Us Weekly confirmed in August 2021 that their divorce was finalized — the same month she was spotted getting cozy with Tatum.
Earlier that summer, the X-Men: First Class actress opened up about Tatum being her first choice to star in her directorial debut, Pussy Island.
“[He was the one] I thought of when I wrote this character,” she told Deadline in June 2021. “I just knew from Magic Mike and his live shows, I got the sense he’s a true feminist and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter.”
Tatum added at the time, “When Zoë called me about this, I was shocked. … I’d watched her in movies, knew she produced High Fidelity and had seen that, but I didn’t know she was creating on a level like this, where she wanted to direct. This came out of nowhere and the subject matter made me say, ‘Wait, why are you thinking about me for this?’ No one gives me a chance to play a role like this, everybody throws me down a different alley and expects me to do a certain thing. It was scary and liberating, just to be able to have a free conversation, where I was allowed to mess up, and say the wrong things.”
A source told Us in August 2021 that “things turned romantic fast” between the pair after “working together so closely.”

According to a source, Tatum and Kravitz had crossed paths before she tapped him to star in Pussy Island. The duo both had voice roles in 2017’s The Lego Batman Movie.
Shortly after news broke of Kravitz’s divorce, several outlets, including E! News, denied social media speculation that she was romantically linked to Tatum, noting that the pair were planning to work together soon.
News broke that Kravitz was set to direct Tatum in Pussy Island. During a joint interview with Deadline, the pair joked about the actress calling him out for his fashion choices.
“When someone can just come out and tell me I should not be wearing Crocs, and is so adamant about it, she completely convinced me and I never wear Crocs anymore,” he said to which Kravitz replied, “I was just trying to be a good friend, Chan!”
The Magic Mike actor added, “I get it, but I totally loved Crocs for a hot second, and in one hang she was like, ‘You can’t ever do that again.’ And I said, ‘OK, fine.’”
The Big Little Lies alum tagged Tatum in her dad Lenny Kravitz’s Instagram in July 2021.
“You auditioning for MM3?” she joked, referring to Tatum’s stripper movie franchise.
“Oh s—t!! Doing the lords work i see!!” Tatum replied. “Will be calling you shortly to get into your schedule my friend. Hehehe.”
In addition to telling his daughter he’s “been ready,” the rocker responded to Tatum, writing, “@channingtatum Peace my man.”
After the pair stepped out for a lunch date in NYC in late August, Us confirmed their romantic status. “They both have a lot in common, they’re both very active and love outdoor sports and being in the outdoors,” a source said.
After walking the red carpet separately, Tatum and Kravitz were spotted leaving the Met Gala together. While he wore a black Versace suit, she rocked a barely-there, diamond-encrusted dress designed by Saint Laurent.
The couple were spotted holding hands while on a stroll through New York City.
Tatum and Kravitz celebrated their first Halloween together, dressing as characters from 1976’s Taxi Driver. The Big Little Lies alum also showed her support for a fan who wore a couple’s costume inspired by her and the Magic Mike’s Last Dance star.
Tatum didn’t post his own birthday message for Kravitz via social media, but he did “like” a sweet post her father, Lenny, shared in honor of her 33rd birthday on December 1.
Before they started filming Pussy Island, Kravitz’s beau gave her some helpful management tips.
“I was like, ‘You’ll need double the days,'” Tatum recalled to Variety about a conversation he had with Kravitz, advising her not to star in and direct the picture. “She’s a perfectionist in the best possible way.”
While Kravitz played coy when asked about her romantic relationship with Tatum, simply stating in her March 2022 Elle cover story that she is “happy,” she gushed about her man’s talent.
“Looking at his work and hearing him speak about Magic Mike and the live show, I’m like, I think he’s a feminist,” Kravitz said. “You need to be so far from who this is, where it’s not scary. And I don’t think we’ve ever seen him play someone dark. I’m excited to see him do that.”
Kravitz’s stepdad, Jason Momoa, shared photos of himself and Tatum about to board a plane for the premiere of The Batman, in which the actress stars as Catwoman.
“SO EXCITED @channingtatum and I are on our way to see our ZOZO,” the Aquaman star wrote via Instagram. “Finally @thebatman premiere.
“I’m in awe,” the actor told Entertainment Tonight about his girlfriend’s directing skills. “She’s doing better than I did on our first movie with Dog. I mean, jeez, we barely survived and she’s just killing it.”
Tatum added that Kravitz “saw me,” explaining: “She’s got a weird gift for that. She sees right through a lot of people’s stuff and really, just who they are to her is really simple. She’s one of the more intentional people I’ve ever met in my life.”
Kravitz opened up about her romance with Tatum in a cover interview for GQ, telling the outlet that he was a major source of support for her as they made the movie Pussy Island. “He’s just a wonderful human,” she explained. “He makes me laugh and we both really love art and talking about art and the exploration of why we do what we do. We love to watch a film and break it down and talk about it and challenge each other.” On set, she added that the Logan Lucky star “really was my protector and it was really wonderful and sweet.” As for why the duo have kept their relationship relatively low-key, she said: “You want to keep it sacred and private as long as you can. So that you don’t have to even think about what the world thinks about it.”
